Hot take?
Why no one needs selfhosted and everyone should try it.
Why would I want it?
- will for self-sovereignty
- but also cheapskate lower password manager costs by selfhosting

In teams it’s a good way of having a shared view of what’s supposed to be there. But also, and more importantly when solo, it gives reproducibility.
- Are we locked out of the server due to faulty firewall-config? - no problem, re-deploy from backup.
- Do we want to isolate a service to a separate VPS? - no problem, just add the VPS as host and move the service an re-deploy from backup.
Also ofcourse, you get to track the history of your infra in git.
